Support & development · renew without losing business knowledge

Renew what holds you back. Retain what the business relies on.

Your software has supported the business for years. It holds knowledge about prices, customers, products and exceptions. Yet changes are becoming difficult, or a new way of working no longer fits. We establish what needs to change and deliver the renewal in defined stages.

Design example · modernising a price calculation

The technology changes. The agreement must still hold.

  • Understand first

Which pricing rule, product variant and exception does the team use?

  • Modernise selectively

Update the calculation or integration and compare recognisable scenarios.

  • Make a controlled transition

Agree data ownership, checks and recovery before the new component takes over.

Business knowledge is the reference point

Does the new code work? And does the right agreement reach the customer and employee?

Not every limitation requires a fresh start

An ageing interface, hard-to-change business rules and a fragile integration are different problems. We examine what actually constrains the work, which dependencies are involved and what users want to retain.

For example, a distributor may want branches to use each other's stock more independently. That is not simply a question of a modern interface. Stock definitions, reservations and responsibilities also need to work together.

What we deliver

A defined modernisation scope

An assessment of the chosen component, relevant business rules and dependencies. We establish what stays, what changes and which uncertainties need investigation first. That informs the scope, priorities and estimate.

The renewed component and its connections

The agreed application, backend or integration changes. We capture behaviour that must be retained in examples and tests. The improvement should add useful capability without quietly losing established agreements.

A controlled transition

A plan for data, rollout, support and recovery. Where appropriate, components run alongside one another temporarily or are introduced in stages. Employees know what changes, what remains familiar and where to get help.

Work with the people who know the history

The reason for an old exception is not always recorded in the code. An employee or internal developer may know why a calculation or sequence matters. We bring that knowledge into the design and retain it for future work.

At an American building materials supplier, we combine maintenance and modernisation of existing applications and cloud middleware with guidance for internal developers. Sales, inventory and logistics provide the business context.

We do not start by assuming the team or platform needs replacing. We contribute the expertise and delivery capacity required for the next stage.

Make room for new applications

Modernisation may make business rules available to a dealer portal, employee app or useful AI assistance. That is a possible benefit, not a reason to rebuild everything at once. We assess each extension against the need, available information and operating costs.

If priorities are unclear, begin with software strategy. If the direction is established, we can design, build and test a focused change. Our quality and operations approach explains how we test and introduce it.
