Maintenance · modernisation · knowledge transfer

Keep improving the software your business already relies on.

You need to trust the software your business runs on, including when an integration changes, a developer leaves or a new customer brings different requirements. We maintain and improve existing applications, preserving the business knowledge within them and supporting the people who depend on them.

Understand what we are taking on

Together, we identify the processes that depend on the software and the people who know the environment. We review source code, access, data, integrations and cloud configuration. We also examine how changes are tested and released, what monitoring is available and how recovery works.

That initial assessment provides a practical basis for a handover: what can stay, what knowledge is missing and what needs attention first. You can see the work required to take over support and the improvements that can follow later. Read more about taking over an existing application.

Selective modernisation: applications and integrations stay connected while a defined part changes.Everyday workData and integrations

Improve the part. Preserve the connections.

For a building materials supplier, we connect modernisation with existing product logic, integrations and the expertise of the internal development team.

What we can take responsibility for

Maintenance and support

We maintain the agreed applications and handle questions and incidents. We establish how issues are reported, how their impact is assessed, who makes decisions and when support is available. Response and recovery arrangements depend on the support agreement.

Targeted modernisation

We improve components that constrain further development or reliable use. Data, integrations and everyday operations remain part of that decision. See how we approach modernising established software.

Work alongside your internal team

We can combine implementation with technical guidance. Developers gain an understanding of decisions, dependencies and how changes are reviewed. Both are part of our work with a US building materials supplier.

During an incident, the effect on people matters

A fault in a report has different consequences from a work order that never reaches the delivery team. We assess the impact on employees, customers and subsequent work. We agree who needs to be involved and how the business will be kept informed.

Recovery may involve reverting a release, restoring data or agreeing a temporary way of working. The available options need to be understood beforehand. After recovery, we investigate the cause and determine what could prevent a recurrence. That work is prioritised alongside other maintenance and development.

Maintenance and new requirements need distinct decisions

A change by an external provider can make maintenance necessary. Meanwhile, an employee may have identified a way to simplify a frequent task. We make clear which work preserves existing behaviour and which work adds new capabilities.

We then agree priorities, scope and investment. For each change, we establish how to test it, how to introduce it and what to check after release. New capabilities should not quietly undermine what already works well.

Knowledge that stays with the business

Source code alone is not a complete handover. Your team also needs to understand how the application is released, which systems it connects to and why a business rule works as it does. We include that knowledge in documentation and collaboration with your team.

This keeps the business able to make decisions about its software and the partners it works with. During a transition, we agree which access, documentation and practical guidance will be transferred. Our page on quality and operations explains how testing, monitoring and recovery fit together.
