From business logic to production

The strength of a platform goes deeper than its interface.

Your customer portal, employee app and back office are different ways into the same business. We design and build the foundation connecting them: data, business rules, permissions and integrations. Google Cloud provides the infrastructure; the work shapes the product.

Business logic in practice · JobLog

A schedule change is not a price change.

In JobLog24, a planner can move or cancel one cleaning visit. The recurring agreement and subscription price retain their separate meanings. We carried those distinctions through the office application, mobile app and backend. Planners can arrange the work while administrators retain control of the commercial agreement.

Engineering starts with the customer commitment

An agreement is not just a database record. It has a customer, a price, an owner and conditions. A change can affect scheduling, delivery and invoicing. That meaning belongs in the platform.

We translate the business model into data structures and operations that hold together. Employees need to trust the information they see. Integrations must respect the same rules. A future AI assistant must not get a shortcut around them.

Our tools, and the reasons behind them

Layer What we work with Why it matters
Web applications TypeScript, using Angular or Vue Role-specific applications with shared data models and maintainable components
Mobile applications A shared web codebase with Capacitor for iOS and Android Reuse product logic while accessing native capabilities such as the camera and push notifications
Backend TypeScript and Node.js, APIs and Cloud Functions Business rules, authorisation and workflow steps independent of individual screens
Cloud Google Cloud Managed foundations for hosting, identity, data, files and compute
Data NoSQL Firestore by preference; Cloud SQL when relational storage is a better fit Model relationships, access patterns and changes together
Integrations Focused APIs, webhooks, Pub/Sub and background jobs Connect business systems, including those that respond at different times
AI Models and hosting selected for the task, data and operating requirements Retrieve knowledge and prepare or execute actions within the user’s authority

The engagement determines the choice. For an application and partner platform, we built a Vue portal and TypeScript API with relational storage. Partner relationships, commission tiers and administrative transactions needed a coherent data model.

Web and mobile, connected by shared product logic

We develop applications in TypeScript, using Angular or Vue for the interface. Capacitor brings a shared web codebase to iOS and Android, with plugins providing native capabilities. This reduces duplicate development while leaving room for platform-specific interaction, permissions and releases. How Capacitor connects web and native functionality.

For WorkVine, we delivered product design, the backend, the Office environment and iOS and Android apps. HR, scheduling and employee actions connect with payroll, Brevo and electronic signatures. Shared product logic connects those entry points.

For JobLog24, we built a mobile-first PWA. A cleaner can start, pause and complete a work order, report issues and request supplies. The office works with the same job while retaining responsibility for hours approval and invoice review. Offline behaviour also has explicit boundaries: time recording on previously loaded work orders can be stored locally, while new requests and photo uploads need a connection.

Cloud-native engineering takes the whole system into account

For a platform serving brands and retail teams, we built the cloud infrastructure and web applications. Background processing converted point-of-sale data into a shared model of stores, brands, products and employees. Connecting the systems was only part of the work: their data had to make sense inside the product.

We agree capacity, response-time, recovery and cost requirements, then translate them into architecture and tests. Explore our cloud architecture approach.

Security is part of how the product works

A manager, employee, partner and customer have different responsibilities. In KidsJobs, we designed the roles of customer, young person and parent, including relationships between parent and child accounts. A property services platform required the same job to connect people in separate organisations.

We design around identity, organisational boundaries, permissions, file access and service credentials. Security and privacy explain the choices behind those controls.

A foundation for interfaces that will change

Someone may use a screen today and ask an assistant to prepare a proposal tomorrow. The business still needs to control which information is available and who may make a commitment.

We put critical rules in controlled services and APIs. An agent can receive specific capabilities without receiving authority over the entire business. Our approach to agentic AI starts there.

Build with us, bring us into your team or start with a review

At a building materials supplier, we maintain and modernise applications for sales, inventory and logistics while supporting internal developers. The business knowledge in those systems is a starting point, not a reason to start over.

You can engage us for an independent technical assessment, complete implementation or work alongside your engineering team. We agree who owns product decisions, which components we take responsibility for and how your team will continue with the result.

What you receive

A reasoned design, working software and a clear account of the decisions behind it. The agreed tests, environments, documentation and handover belong in that delivery, together with explicit operating responsibilities.

Quality and operations make the platform something your business can continue to use and develop, even as the team, technology partner or business ambition changes.
